1. How can I join the UK Health and Learning Disabilities Network?

You need to be at least 18 years old to join.

Go to the page our.learningdisabilitieshealthnetwork.org.uk. In the top right corner, click this button:

A form will pop up:

Create New Account form

You need to fill in these boxes:

Email: Your email address.
Username: To stay safe online, choose a made-up name. Don’t use your real name.
Password: Should be a mix of letters and numbers (at least 8 of them).

Tick the two boxes at the bottom.

Then click this button:

Create New Account button

You will get an email from [email protected]. Click the link in this email to become a member.

If you don’t get the email, check if it has gone into your email account’s Junk E-mail folder/Spam folder. You may want to ask somebody to help you do this.

2. How do I log in to the UK Health and Learning Disabilities Network?

Go to the page our.learningdisabilitieshealthnetwork.org.uk.

Click on the Log In button in the top right corner:

A box will come up:

Log In form

Put in your Username and Password, then click on the blue “Log In” button.


3. How do I start a new topic?

Log in (see above). Then click on the grey button which says +New Topic near the top right:

4. How do I write a message?

When you start a new topic, you will see a word processor at the bottom of the screen:

Give your message a title.

Write your message in the bottom left window. You can also add pictures by dragging and dropping them from your computer into this window.

The window to the right shows what your message will look like on the forum.

Choose a category from the drop-down menu.

Then, click the + Create Topic button:

5. How can I reply to someone else’s message?

To reply to a topic or a message that is already there, use the Reply button below the topic you want to reply to:

Click the Reply button to reply to a message

Now write your message (see How do I write a message? above).
